Weixun Wang, OD

Dr. Weixun Wang joined the professional eye care team of Southern Dutchess Eye Care in 2019.  In addition to providing family vision care, Dr. Wang has a specialized interest in contact lens care, diagnosis and management of ocular disease, and dry eye management.

He is passionate about his profession and providing vision solutions for his patients.  “I enjoy helping people and getting to know my patients so I can provide personalized care. The eye care profession allows me to do that” says Dr. Wang.

Dr. Wang is originally from New York City and moved to the Hudson Valley to follow his desire to practice full scope optometry in a more tranquil, natural setting close to good hiking trails and restaurants.  He considered various opportunities in which to practice eye care, but chose to join the doctors and staff of Southern Dutchess Eye Care because of the welcoming, family-like atmosphere and emphasis on patient-centric care.

Dr. Wang graduated Magna Cum Laude from SUNY Binghamton University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in biology, and received his doctorate from SUNY College of Optometry.  After several clinical rotations, he joined a large ophthalmology practice with an emphasis on treatment and management of eye disease, and specialty contact lens care for patients with unique ocular conditions, such as keratoconus.

Dr. Wang resides with his optometrist girlfriend in Wappinger Falls. They enjoy hiking, fitness activities, and share a love of international travel and food adventures.
